I think it is a bit silly that user: peace can post a reply and then lock the thread.

Either delete the thread or leave it unlocked. What is the point of leaving it there locked, and allowing yourself to have the last word. It is asking for unnecessary trouble :ugeek:

To delete a thread after people have read it would give the impression that Islam has something to hide (given the thread was about Islam). Therefore posting a reply to set the record straight and then locking it is the best way to go.

There are things which happen behind the scenes which users such as yourself do not know about, and given that particular user's attitude in private, i locked the thread as i can see where the thread was headed. A third thread was deleted, again, which users such as yourself are not aware of. If people want to discuss things in a civil manner then threads won't be locked, but it's best to have discussions about Islam on Islamic based forums.

If the thread is headed in a certain direction, then why bother justifying the comment with a response? It would appear regardless of what you say you aren't going to influence that persons opinion, much in the same way it doesnt matter what they say because they aren't going to influence your opinoin.

If the user violates the forum guidelines for use then issue them a warning initially and if they continue, ban them. If the user doesn't violate the forum guidelines then the thread should remain unlocked. If what they are doing behind the scenes is contrary to forum guidelines, again, inform them of this violation and warn them that the consequences of persistence with this behaviour will result in suspension/termination of their account.

Posting a reply and locking the thread simply conveys the impression that you are abusing your rights admin rights by forcibly allowing yourself the last word.
